I"ve used the HTML Archive to build a couple of application, but my question is I've notice that the file of choice is *.html. Is that the only format available or can we also use ASP or ASPX?

Thank you,

Les.

    Hi Les,

I don't have any experience in ASP or ASPX, so I can't really comment on it's support on the Android platorm. However to give you some background, the HTML Archive activity uses Android's "WebView" control which is the core technology that the Android Browser application is based on. My suggestion would be to create something and try to run it in the Android Browser application before trying it in Andromo. Andromo doesn't contain all the functionality of the browser, however you'll be able to tell pretty quickly if it's not going to work.

    Hi Les,

To add a bit of extra info for you, ASP is a server side technology, like PHP. It requires a web server to interpret the pages and then converts it to HTML code and sends that down to the client requesting it.

It would work if you use the 'Website' activity and point it at a URL where the server is processing ASP files, but the 'HTML Archive' activity as Darryl pointed out is a web client - just like any web browser.

Hope that sheds a little light on that for you.
