I recently decided to upload my app to the Google Play Store. Just before uploading it, they say that my app either needs to remove "android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS" or have a privacy policy set. I want to remove the "get accounts"-permission. How do I do that?

Also, while I'm at it: they want me to make my app target at least API level 26 ("Your app currently targets API level 24 and must target at least API level 26 to ensure it is built on the latest APIs optimized for security and performance."), How do i do that? I've read all your articles and so and still don't quite understand how do do it.

Sorry for all the questions, I'll be signing up for your paid plan soon!

The "GET_ACCOUNTS" permission is required for GCM notification messages. So the only way to remove that permission from your app is to disable AirBop and build it to generate a new copy of the app.

As for the API level notification in Google Play, we're aware of the upcoming changes to Google Play and are working on the changes required. An update to Andromo will be released prior to that deadline.

As always, you will need to rebuild your applications and update them in Google Play once the changes are in place in order for those changes to take effect.

You can find more details about the changes in Google's blog post:

In the meantime, note that it is only a warning, and it does not prevent you from submitting/updating apps -- you may continue to update your apps in Google play before August/November.
